ABSTRACT: Addressing Cultural Competency in Vocational Education Settings explores the importance of integrating cultural awareness and sensitivity into vocational training programs. This study aimed to enhance the cultural competence of vocational educators and students to better prepare them for diverse workplaces. The objectives were: to assess the current level of cultural competency in vocational education settings, to evaluate the impact of cultural awareness on student learning and career success, and to propose strategies for promoting cultural competence among vocational educators and students. A survey design was employed to gather detailed data from educators, students, and industry representatives, providing insights into cultural competency practices. A sample size of 250 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling technique to ensure participants with diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences were included. The case study focused on the Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna State. Findings indicated that while some efforts were made to promote cultural competency, there was a need for more comprehensive training and integration into vocational curricula. It was recommended that vocational institutions should develop cultural competency training programs, integrate cultural awareness into all aspects of vocational education, and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
